With all this talk about cannabis and especially CBD, have you started considering how to incorporate cannabis into your lifestyle? Well, you should be. And not just because athletes and business people are doing the same, but because it is essential for your health and wellness. In the article below I will tell you how to use cannabis, not just as a nutritional supplement but also as a way for you to help your body reach a healthier balance.

A very bold statement above, but science backs up cannabis as an essential part of daily nutrition and also many potential medical benefits. The reason for this is that we have an essential component in our body known as our endocannabinoid system ( ECS ), and this system is responsible for bodily functions such as appetite, memory, movement, and mood to name a few. Cannabis has been used both ancient and modern civilizations for millennia as both a medical and nutritional supplement. It was first documented the Chinese around 3000BC and listed as a medical herb in their book of Pharmacopoeia, primarily used to treat symptoms related to gout. Since then it has been claimed to treat a wide range of ailments, conditions and diseases. Today, scientific evidence is backing these ancient claims up and we are seeing the huge potential of cannabis becoming a very popular “alternative” treatment many people around the globe.

Cannabis contains cannabinoids and two of the primary cannabinoids are CBD ( cannabidiol ) and THC (tetrahydrocannabinol). THC was once the most popular cannabinoid and generally used for recreational use as it is psychoactive and responsible for the “high” cannabis is well known for.

On the other hand CBD is not psychoactive, and actually inhibits the effects associated with THC.

However, both cannabinoids have many claimed medical benefits, but especially good for pain management. The reason for this is that these cannabinoids connect to our ECS which is comprised of our nervous and immune systems. Tiny receptors found within the ECS guide these cannabinoids to bind and interact with our bodies, helping it regulate bodily functions and bring it back to a balance, known as homeostasis.
If your body and ECS are not balanced you will feel sick, tired, lethargic and weak, leading to illness and disease. Boosting your ECS with essential cannabinoids is a brilliant way to boost your health in the highly stressful and busy lives we lead.

There are many ways you can use cannabis at home or at work and it does not need to make you high! Cannabis, especially CBD,  can be used as a food supplement such as in edibles, topically as a balm, salve or oil and even as a vape-liquid. Cannabinoids can be infused into most things as the base product that is used to makes these products is a cannabis oil, similar to olive, coconut or other vegetable oils, just packed with many many more benefits.

It is an exciting time in our world today and with the broadening and liberalization of cannabis laws, we are now seeing the many benefits and much potential of this magical plant. What’s more, you may also use cannabis products to effectively and efficiently treat your pets at home.
